Group Lessons
- Our swimming lessons follow the Swim England Learn to Swim & Aquatic Skills Frameworks Stages 1 – 10.
- All group lessons are taught by Swim England Level 2 or above qualified teachers.
- Stage 1 – 7 lessons are 30 minutes.
- Swimmers in Stages 1 and 2 will have a teacher and an assistant in the water at all times.
- Stage 8, 9 and 10 lessons are 1 hour and require fins, which can be purchased from reception for £35, or from various retailers online.
- Adults – Our 1 hour group lesson caters for both beginner and improver swimmers.
- Swimmers must be at least 4 years and 6 months old to be eligible for lessons, due to the depth (1m shallow to 2m deep) and temperature (28 – 29°) of the pool.
- Swimmers can enrol at any time and are continually assessed to enable them to move classes as soon as they are ready.
- Lessons operate for 50 weeks of the year, only stopping for the Christmas break.

Ratios
- Maximum number of swimmers in classes:
- Stages 1 – 3 up to 8 swimmers
- Stage 4 and 5 up to 9 swimmers
- Stages 6 – 10 up to 12 swimmers
- Club Hub up to 16 swimmers
- Adult up to 12 swimmers
Prices
Our group swimming lessons cost £7.50 per lesson. This is paid for by direct debit on the 1st of every month at a cost of £31.25 per month. If you cancel on or before 21st of any month you will not have to pay more money. After this you will be charged for one additional month. In addition to your lesson, this includes:
- A badge and certificate as and when they are achieved.
- Unlimited swimming during our general swim sessions.
- If your child is under 8, as an accompanying adult you can swim for free too.
- One ELSA swimming hat per year (subject to availability).
Additional Information
- Hats £9 and goggles £8 are available to buy from reception.
- Lockers are free.
- Baby changing unit available.
- Universal changing available.
- Free Parking is available on Grove Park Road (sign posted; Eltham College).

With a focus on quality, combined with our friendly atmosphere and competitive prices, children can learn to swim and gain confidence whilst having fun.
Competition
- The Club Hub is for those swimmers who would like to train for competition beyond Stage 10.
- These sessions are taken by a Swim England Level 2 or above qualified coach, with a swimming club background.
- Training will move from ‘learn to swim’ to ‘train to win’ with the focus on: precision technique and skill work, introduction to competition rules, and building race speed and stamina.
- Swimmers can take part in any or all three of the sessions provided each week (3x 1 hour sessions available, priced at £7.50 per session).
- We are partnered with Orpington Ojays Swimming Club to provide a pathway to competitive level swimming for every ELSA swimmer.
1 to 1 Lessons
- One-to-one lessons take place on:
- Saturday 9am – 2.15pm
- Sunday 10.30am – 2pm
- Lessons can be tailored to suit the individual swimmer’s needs including: technique work, skill improvement and stamina/speed building.
- Children and adults of all abilities are accommodated.
- Lessons operate for 50 weeks of the year, only stopping for the Christmas break.
- We also run additional 1 to 1 lessons during the school holidays Monday to Friday 9am – 12pm.
Prices
- Our 1 to 1 swimming lessons are paid for by Direct Debit on the 1st of every month.
- Direct Debit payers receive a discount of 10 free lessons throughout the year – paying for only 40 out of 50 weeks.
- 1 to 1 swimming lessons are £98.50 per month.
- 2 to 1 swimming lessons are £116.50 per month (£58.25 per swimmer).
- If you cancel on or before 21st of any month you will expire at the end of that month and no longer be charged.
- Holiday or ad hoc one-to-one lesson costs £29.55 per 30 minute lesson.
- Holiday or ad hoc two-to-one (or more) shared lesson costs £34.95 per 30 minute lesson.
In addition to your swimming lesson this includes:
- A badge and certificate – if one is achieved in the term.
- Unlimited swimming during our general swim sessions
- If your child is under 8, as an accompanying adult you can swim for free too.

Swim England Awards
- We operate a continuous assessment programme using the Swim England Learn To Swim & Aquatic Skills Frameworks which means swimmers can achieve an award at any point during the term.
- All our awards (badge & certificate) are FREE.
